Jeff and Joanne delivered burritos from La Plancha Loca in Highwood to the facility’s ICU and Medical Surgical staff, where doctors and nurses have been treating veterans amid the pandemic, including COVID patients.

“Today we were honored to bring lunch to a group of heroes who take care of heroes. Joanne and I are humbled by their dedication and spirit. Good health and peace to all.”

The James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center provides care to veterans, active duty service members and their families. Opened in October 2010, it is the first federal health care center that partners the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Department of Defense into a single, fully integrated health care facility.
